Job Description

As a Cadet / Civil Graduate / Junior Project Engineer you will be given the opportunity to learn as you go and bring your theoretical skills to the table in a variety of ways.

Initially you will be working in the Estimation section, but this company prides itself on the development of its Cadets and you will be exposed to and learn all facets of the projects enabling you to move into a Junior Site Engineer role.

Initial duties could include assisting the Project Manager with estimation duties including estimation, cost control, purchasing and scheduling along with maintaining an up to date document management system.

From there, your main duties could be a mix of:

  • Assist with the preparation of scopes of works and programmes
  • Assist with tender evaluations for trade packages
  • Assist with preparation of orders and contracts for the trade packages
  • Assist with the management of the administration of subcontractors and consultants contracts
  • Assist in the management of OH&S and Quality Non-Conformance Reports and follow-up with rectification actions as required
  • Set up and manage drawing register controls
  • Set up and manage correspondence filing system
  • Review and mark up construction programs
  • Manage Requests for Information process
  • Assist Project Manager and team as required

Skills, Experience and other Requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelor of Engineering in (Civil or Structural)
  • 1-2 years industry relevant work experience
  • Able to read construction drawings
  • Estimation experience desirable
  • Ability to travel interstate for projects as required
  • Self starter who is willing to learn and contribute to a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and busy environment
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Be proficient in using the Microsoft suite
  • Demonstrated reliability
  • Detail oriented and ability to multi task
